YOUR HEALTH COMPANION
The Health Companion allows patients to make more control in the management of their cancer by enabling them to record, monitor and communicate how they are feeling with a view to improving their care and treatment outcomes.
The collection and evaluation of anonymous patient outcomes data will be used to enhance NHS services, improve cancer care and provide opportunities for research into new medicines.
How it works
Each month, patients will be asked to answer a small number of validated patient questionnaires via an application that can be downloaded on a phone, tablet computer or website. National Clinical Nurse Specialists (members of LCNUK and MESOUK) recruit patients, gain their consent, and train them on how to use their Health Companion
This is easy for patients to complete and only takes 10-15 minutes for their time each month. Patients can use the information they have provided to share with healthcare providers via graphical reports provided within the Health Companion.
